Bible on Prayer – Lament

Prayer During A Dark Night

Introduction
Psalm 3 is a lament psalm written by King David when he fled for his life during the coup led by his son, Absalom. It was the greatest crisis in his life.

By penning this psalm, David offers us a model on how we can pray during our moments of greatest crisis.

Three Key Lessons:

# 1: In the midst of our most severe crisis, we must still look up to God despite the odds that are stacked against us.

# 2: In the midst of our most severe crisis, we must maintain our faith and confidence in God because he will never abandon us.

# 3: In the midst of our most severe crisis, we must be patient to wait on God because he will set things right in the end.
